Building on its reputation as one of the world’s most innovative companies,* Lackawanna College’s Center for Technology Innovation (CTI) will open Fall 2023. The CTI will serve as an education and corporate training space for both new students and existing professionals in the industrial technology workforce.

The CTI will offer undergraduate degree programs, corporate training, as well as short term, stackable certificates, to prepare individuals for the jobs of tomorrow in areas such as robotics, electric vehicles/advanced automotive, cybersecurity, and communications technology.  The CTI is now accepting enrollment in programs that will lead to careers in industries such as transportation and logistics, warehousing and distribution, industrial automation, and technology and communication.

Lackawanna College’s vision for the Center for Technology Innovation (CTI) is to ensure the College’s role as an economic, social, and community development leader that supports the future industrial ecosystem.

The CTI will develop graduates through industry-modeled training, combining academics and technical skill-building. Doing so will build a thriving workforce to address the country’s need for qualified workers. The Center for Technology Innovation won’t just build today’s workforce — it will be future-proof.

In addition to the undergraduate suite of programs, the CTI will offer a state of the art corporate training curriculum. Located in one of the most heavily trafficked industrial corridors of the Northeast, the CTI has already attracted the attention of national industry leaders eager to develop a preferred corporate training site in such a convenient location. The CTI has established sponsorships and partnerships with multiple national and regional employers and industry leaders and will offer both structured and customizable training options including:

Beginning in the fall of 2024, the CTI will be based at a 90,000-square-foot facility in Scranton, PA, located two hours from the major cities of New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia, and just 15 minutes from a commercial airport, in a region ripe with tourist attractions and a vibrant restaurant, educational, and cultural scene.
