Environmental Education Center

The Lackawanna College Environmental Education Center (LCEEC) sits amidst forests, fields and hiking trails on 211 acres in Covington Township. The center features a 5,000-square-foot Gold LEED-certified green building that is constructed to be environmentally responsible and resource-efficient.

LCEEC offers year-round educational public programs and camps. These programs are available for students from pre-school through college and focus on the outdoors, sustainability and compassion for the natural world. LCEEC partners with Lackawanna’s Police Academy to offer a conservation and natural resource officer certification. 

Prospective students looking for environmental education in Covington Township and who want to devote their lives and careers to environmental conservation will find the programs they need at our Environmental Education Center.

LCEEC facility rentals keep the principals of sustainability in mind. Our policy requires green practices to reduce the environmental impact of your event. Every group, organization, or individual will receive educational information on how to conduct a green event.
