Lackawanna College Donates Medical Supplies to Combat Coronavirus Pandemic

SCRANTON, Pa. – March 27, 2020 – With coronavirus cases rising in Pennsylvania, healthcare providers may experience shortages in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). In an effort to help delay these shortages, Lackawanna College’s Allied Health Division gathered supplies from their labs that use PPE to donate to local hospitals and healthcare facilities.

“Lackawanna College has excellent partnerships with local hospitals and healthcare organizations,” said Kelly Musti, Dean of Allied Health. “They never fail to help us provide a quality education for our students to meet the College’s mission. It’s our turn to give back so that they can provide care for the community during this difficult time.”

The Allied Health Division donated gloves, gowns, goggles, masks, drapes and other protective equipment. These PPE supplies were available as students are completing their courses online for the remainder of the semester due to coronavirus concerns. Lackawanna College will continue to make donations until supplies are exhausted.
