Lackawanna’s Translation and Interpretation certification program was designed to be a differentiating credential providing students with the knowledge and skills to support an increasingly diverse workforce.
This program validates the speaking and writing abilities of native Spanish speakers. The prerequisites for this certificate are College English and Effective Speaking. All students will also need to have an acceptable level of Spanish writing and speaking ability.
The Course Work
The program is completed in two semesters, starting in the Fall with Theory and Practice of Translation and Theory and Practice of Interpretation. It concludes in the Spring with Advanced Techniques of Translation and Advanced Techniques of Interpretation.
Translation certificate courses are taken online. Students take one course at a time, which helps current students manage the additional course within their schedule.
