This course prepares students to take the Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Suite certification exam(s). Students only need to take one certification exam in order to become a Microsoft Office Specialist.

Spanish for the Workplace is an innovative, self-paced, online occupational Spanish conversation course that seeks to bridge the communication gap between English and Spanish speaking supervisors and co-workers.

The Microsoft Office courses include:

  • Word: Creating and Modifying a Flyer, Research Papers, Business Letters, Mail Merge, Resumes, Newsletters, Reference Documents, Online Forms and Using Macros.
  • Excel: Worksheets, Formulas, Financial Functions, Multiple Spreadsheets, Tables, Templates, PivotTables, Data Analysis, and User Interfaces.
  • PowerPoint: Creating and Editing Presentations with Pictures, Shapes, SmartArt, WordArt, Charts, Tables, Slide Masters, Adding Media, and Delivering the Presentation.
  • Outlook: Managing Email, Calendars, Contacts, Tasks and Customizing Outlook.

The Spanish for the Workplace course includes:

  • Spanish Fundamentals: Greetings, Conversational Phrases, Survival Words, Numbers, Colors, Directions, Places, Questions, Time, Months & Seasons, Days, Dates, Family, Personal Characteristics, Likes and Dislikes.
  • Spanish for the Workplace: Job Titles, Receptions, Basic Hiring, Job Application, Interview Questions, Supervisory Expressions, Job Expectations, Performance, Complaints, Warnings, Rules, Training, Safety Equipment, Schedules, Shifts, Payroll, Money Terms, Benefits, and Pay.

Additional Information

Tuition is $3,000 and provides 216 hours of training provided in an online, self-paced course. The course covers Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
