Lackawanna College Announces Retirement of Head Football Coach Mark Duda
Lackawanna College announces that Head Football Coach Mark Duda is retiring from coaching following a recent diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease. The College expresses gratitude for his leadership and impact on the program throughout his coaching career.
Coach Duda has been with the program since its inception in 1993 and served as Head Football Coach for 32 seasons starting in 1994. He is the active wins leader in all of the NJCAA with 217 career victories and has helped produce over 450 NCAA Division I athletes. He has been pivotal in the College’s transition from the NJCAA to the NCAA Division II, helping shape the future of the football program.
Coach Duda will remain connected to the athletic department as an athletic advisor. His decision comes after thoughtful reflection with his family, and the College offers its full support as he prioritizes his health and well-being.
Coach Duda’s retirement marks the end of an era, but his influence will continue to shape the culture and spirit of Lackawanna College for generations to come.
