Lackawanna welcomes new Cyber Security program director
SCRANTON, Pa. – Lackawanna College has named Marc Gonzalez as its new Cyber Security program director.
Gonzalez is a “threat hunter” and cyber security advisor with more than 26 years of experience. He is the co-founder and co-owner of Site2, a data management company based in Clarks Summit. He previously worked as a vice president for Diversified Information Technologies, was co-founder of United Data Management Service, and held various positions with organizations including Prudential Financial, Metropolitan Life Insurance, IBM Global Services, and Prudential Asset Management Company.
Gonzalez earned his MBA in Finance and bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Scranton. He is a certified information systems security professional, certified business continuity planner, and was previously a certified information systems auditor.
In his new position with the College and through Site2, Gonzalez hopes to provide in-depth experience and internship opportunities to students of the Cyber Security program. Further, Site2 will be an industry partner with the College’s developing Center for Technology Innovation.
