Math Center Mission: Through a supportive, interactive learning experience, the Math Center strives to supplement classroom instruction and seeks to help all students become independent learners to facilitate their learning goals.

How Do I Access the Math Center?

The Math Center is open from Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. To schedule an appointment, click on the scheduling button, sign up for an account, and select the math center in the available schedules. Then select a blank white space next to the time that works best for you to schedule an appointment.

The Math Center is located in Room 110 in Angeli Hall. You can contact the Math Center Director at reppap@lackawanna.edu.

Why Should I Use the Math Center?

The Math Center staff has been trained to meet students where they are and create an individualized plan to address math needs. Math Center staff will guide students in becoming independent learners. Using guided questioning, tutors will model how students can study for math and build on prior knowledge to gain skills in new material. Tutors will encourage students to look at the larger concepts and how each component fits into the larger picture.

When Should I Use the Math Center?

Because Math is a cumulative subject, we encourage any student to make use of the Math Center to strengthen earlier skills, reinforce new concepts and to develop good math study skills.

Mathematics is not about numbers, equations, computation, or algorithms: it is about understanding. - William Paul Thurston
