Lackawanna College Level Up Students Get a Head Start on College

SCRANTON, Pa. – May 21, 2020 – Students enrolled in Lackawanna College’s Level Up program quickly shifted to online learning to complete their semester during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year, Lackawanna College will graduate 19 high school seniors from the program. Seven of the 19 students will receive associate degrees, with four registered to return to Lackawanna College in the fall to pursue their bachelor’s or associate degrees.

The Level Up program works similarly to a dual enrollment program but allows high-achieving students to earn an associate degree in select majors by the time they graduate from high school. Students can take a combination of dual enrollment classes offered on-site at each partnering school district, late afternoon or evening classes on-site at Lackawanna or through online classes and summer terms.

Lackawanna College currently partners with 19 school districts throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania for the program.
