Lackawanna College’s Associate in Health Information Technology prepares students for a critical role in modern healthcare, managing, protecting, and making sense of the patient data that drives medical decisions and organizational operations. The curriculum blends medical knowledge, information systems training, and healthcare law and ethics, grounding students in the tools and standards that define the field: electronic health records (EHR), ICD-10 and CPT medical coding, HIPAA compliance, and healthcare reimbursement. Graduates are eligible to sit for AHIMA’s Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT®) certification.
