This program prepares and trains you for high-demand positions in the residential, commercial, and industrial electrical fields. The program offers you a comprehensive educational experience, combining theory with extensive hands-on training. Graduates of the program will learn the technical skills necessary to obtain a sustainable career as an Electrical Technician/Electrician.
This program is ideal for anyone interested in a career in the electrical field, including those with no prior electrical experience or training.

Employment of Electricians is projected to grow 11% nationally from 2023-2033, which is a much faster than the average for all occupations. Across the U.S., Electricians can earn between $39,430 and $106,030 with a median salary of $73,100 in Pennsylvania.

More About the Program
Lackawanna College’s Electrical Technology program equips you with not only the technical skills required for a successful career, but also focuses on critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and the leadership skills required in the industry. You will receive a strong foundation in residential, commercial, and industrial wiring, circuit design, and troubleshooting.
The second half of the program dedicates a significant portion of the curriculum to industrial controls and PLC programming and design. OSHA and National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements are emphasized throughout the curriculum.
