MSSC CERTIFIED PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN
The purpose of Lackawanna College’s MSSC Certified Production Technician certificate program is to provide students with the education they need to master the core competencies of advanced manufacturing production, from entry-level to front-line supervisor through successful completion of certification assessments.
The MSSC Certified Production Technician (CPT) 4.0 certification program’s goal is to raise the level of performance of production technicians so that students can find higher-wage jobs, while also helping employers develop a skilled, knowledgeable workforce that will increase their company’s productivity and industry competitiveness.

The Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) is the manufacturing industry’s leading training, assessment, and certification system. MSSC Certified Production Technicians are qualified for more than 11.3 million jobs in front-line production, material handling, and distribution.
Lackawanna College’s Certified Production Technician program is ideal for students with limited or no prior knowledge of manufacturing who are nonetheless interested in pursuing a career in the manufacturing field. Manufacturing careers are in-demand and offer high wages, up to around $86,000 annually, but these positions also require high levels of skill.
Our Certified Production Technician course is designed to instill in students the knowledge, experience, and high level of skill necessary to enter the manufacturing field fully equipped for career success.
WHAT’S INVOLVED IN OUR MSSC CERTIFIED PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN PROGRAM?
The MSSC Certified Production Technician course at Lackawanna College is affordable, convenient, and 100% online, meaning that students can learn at their own pace and from the comfort of their own homes.
For a tuition cost of $3,000, students will receive a total of 100 hours of education and instruction spread across 12 weeks. Though students can make their own schedules, around 8-10 hours of participation each week is recommended.
