The program is the one of the most affordable in northeastern and central Pennsylvania. Tuition and fees will cover books and lab supplies, scrubs, clinical externship, National Health-Career Association (NHA) study guide, NHA practice exams and the certification exam.

Program Goals
The goal of Lackawanna College’s Medical Assisting certificate program is to prepare students to enter a high-demand field of healthcare and work in a variety of settings, including physician offices, ambulatory care centers, and other healthcare facilities. This program is designed to prepare medical assistants who are competent in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains to enter the profession.

Admissions Requirements
Students must meet admission requirements prior to acceptance, which will be reviewed during the application process.
A high school diploma or GED is required.
After successful completion of the course and clinical practica, you will then be eligible to sit for the National Health-Career Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam.
