Alyssa Gad ’11 married Amer Gad on Aug. 16, 2014 at the The Isles Restaurant Ocean in Isle Beach, N.C. Alyssa has been employed at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, N.Y., since 2012.

Jason B. Reeves

Jason B. Reeves ’11 graduated magna cum laude from Misericordia University in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy. While attending Jason served as a co-president of the philosophy club he founded called Blades of Athena. He also served as the President of the international Honor Society Phi Sigma Tau. Jason has been accepted into the competitive Temple Law and Public Policy Scholar’s Program at the Temple University Beasley School of Law. Since arriving at Temple, Jason co-founded the law school’s branch of the Temple Student Veterans Association, similar to the LC Veterans In Action group he founded in Scranton. In May, Jason interned with U.S. Sen. Robert Casey’s in his Washington, D.C. office to work on veterans’ policies. In addition to his focus on veterans’ affairs he is also working on a white paper that will assist colleges in evaluating how and why they should change their sexual assault response procedures.

Beth (Mozeleski) Evans ’12 married Matthew Evans on July 26, 2014 at the St. Ubaldo Cultural Center in Jessup, followed by a reception at the Al Mia Amore in Dickson City. Beth has been the Head Mail Clerk at Lackawanna College since May of 2009.

Stephanie Srebro

Stephanie Srebro ’13 and ’14 was recently promoted to the Toddler II Head Teacher at the Scranton JCC. Stephanie has been at the JCC for 2 years and plans to continue her education at Keystone College.

Jennifer Knecht

Jennifer Knecht ’11 recently graduated magna cum laude from Minnesota State University-Moorhead with a BA in Sociology and a BA in Women’s and Gender Studies. She was honored with the 2014 Outstanding Student Paper Award and the 2014 C. Wright Mills Sociological Imagination Award from the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at MSUM. Jennifer was also inducted into Alpha Kappa Delta, the International Sociology Honor Society, and Iota Iota Iota, the Women’s and Gender Studies Honor Society in 2012. She has served as the staff member for the Tri-College NEW (National Education for Women’s) Leadership Development Institute for the past three years.

Lorenzo Taliaferro

Lorenzo Taliaferro ’12 was recently drafted in the NFL as a 4th round pick to the Baltimore Ravens. Lorenzo earned All-American recognition at Coastal Carolina University and just graduated with his bachelor’s degree.

Greg Blair, Jr. ’11 recently finished his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Cincinnati and was selected by the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent.

Melody Ziegler ’12 recently accepted a position as a teller with Community Bank, N.A. in Scranton. She will also maintain her role of Business Manager of P.V. Custom Woodworking where she has been since January of 2012.

Amanda Hottenstein ’08 recently completed an Associate of Applied Science in Social Sciences from Harrisburg Area Community College. She is also currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Human Services: Behavioral and Addictions Counseling from Elizabethtown College. Amanda is employed as an Eligibility Specialist for Bradford County Child Care Information Services.

Melissa (Blasi) Kadlubowski, from the Class of 2002, married Eric Kadlubowski on June 28, 2014 at the Church of the Good Shepherd followed by a reception in the church hall. Melissa is currently employed as a Program Coordinator at PA Mentor Network.

Kaley Dolphin

Kaley (McCafferty) Dolphin ’05 married Daniel Dolphin on June 7, 2014 at Holy Rosary Church followed by a reception at the Hilton Scranton and Conference Center. Kaley is currently a vascular ultrasound technologist for Viewmont Imaging and Geisinger Community Medical Center. Daniel formerly worked at Lackawanna College as an athletic trainer.

Clarence Baily

Clarence Bailey ’05 coaches the football Offense and Defensive Line at Hopewell Valley High School in New Jersey. His team ended the fall 2013 season 10-1 and advanced to win the Central Jersey Group III State Championship. Clarence also coaches track in the off season.

Michael R. Duncan

Michael R. Duncan ’05 recently graduated from an executive MBA program at Saint Mary’s College of California where he served as the president of Net Impact. Previously, he completed his bachelor of science in finance in 2008 from Rutgers University where he was the president/founder of the Financial Management Association, vice president of Rutgers Business Governing Association (RBGA), vice president of Inter-Fraternity Council (IFC), and senator for University College. While attending Lackawanna, Michael was the president of the Student Government Association. He is currently the Senior Manager, Shopper Insights and Category Solutions for Campbell Soup.

She is currently employed as a vascular and cardiac sonographer at Great Valley Cardiology, Scranton

Judy Cerra

Judy Cerra ’98 was recently honored by her company as the number one selling Realtor in the City of Scranton for 2013. The honor is the second consecutive annual recognition of its kind. Judy has been a Realtor for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Preferred Properties, formerly known as Prudential Preferred Properties, since 2010.

Her Human Services degree from Lackawanna College prepared her to serve the local community. Prior to assisting families with real estate, she used her degree to guide families in need through Lackawanna County Children and Youth Services.

Kim Mecca

Kim Mecca ’84, Lackawanna’s athletic director, was selected to serve as the Assistant Women’s Region Director by the athletic directors of NJCAA Region XIX member schools. She will assist the Region’s Women’s Director both at the regional and national level in all matters pertaining to NJCAA-sponsored women’s athletic programs and will also be a member of Region XIX’s executive committee.

Gus Stangline

Gus Stangline ’71, an inaugural member of the Alumni Board at Lackawanna, recently retired from his position as the Chief Information Officer and Administrator for Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education Institutional Review Board where he worked for more than 10 years. He has started his own consulting firm as a private health information technology consultant and project manager. In addition, he will provide consulting services on human research subject protection and IRB administration.

John J. Fitzgerald

John J. Fitzgerald ’68 published his second novel, “Thanksgiving Breakfast.”  The story is set in Clarks Summit and the characters, one of which attended Lackawanna, return every Thanksgiving for an annual get together.
