Lackawanna College Names Division of Health Sciences

The Lackawanna College Division of Allied Health has announced that its name has changed to the Division of Health Sciences. Discussions on rebranding the Allied Health Division began in 2019 and was approved by division staff with a final decision made through a staff vote.

With the new name, the College hopes to encourage growth in the healthcare field in Northeastern and Central, Pa., said Kelly A. Musti, PT, DPT, Dean of Health Sciences at Lackawanna College.

“Rebranding our division is an opportunity for us to provide all prospective and current students with the knowledge of our programs,” said Musti. “Our goal is to clarify the value of our comprehensive, science-based and hands-on curriculum that will help them prepare for success in their desired healthcare field.”

Lackawanna College offers a wide variety of associate degrees including a recently launched nursing program and an exclusively online RN-to-BSN degree. Other programs offered by the Division of Health Sciences are Nurse Aide, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Physical Therapist Assistant, Sonography and Surgical Technology.

These competitive programs give students a cutting-edge education and assurance that they will graduate with the ability to secure a high-paying job in the healthcare field.
