GED to Credential Program- GED to MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist)

The GED to Credential Program is a 22-week innovative program at Lackawanna College offering students the ability to receive industry recognized credentials while working on the academic coursework of the GED. 

This program provides an opportunity for students to graduate with two successful completions, in job readiness as well as Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certifications, to jump start into a high-priority occupation.

Students will simultaneously work on GED coursework and Microsoft Office Certification which includes Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Students will also learn Accounting Principles and QuickBooks.

Students will receive training in employment readiness skills, such as resume and cover letter writing, job search assistance and interviewing skills.

Lackawanna College’s GED to Credential Program allows students to gain skills as they work towards their High School Equivalency (GED). 

This program runs 440 hours (20 hours per week for 22 weeks), after which a credential or credentials are rewarded.

This 22-week innovative training program offers students the opportunity to receive an industry recognized credential while working on the academic coursework of the GED. 

This provides an opportunity to graduate with two successful completions — in job readiness and Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certifications,
