    2019 Commencement Speaker

Dallas Shaw, creative director, fashion illustrator and best-selling author

It was ten years ago that Dallas Shaw was a Disney artist in-training who took a sharp turn on her career path, driving full speed and straight toward fashion-industry royalty. She started her own small business then and now she’s the most demanded fashion illustrator in the industry, acting as artist and creative director to the most powerful brands nationwide.

Dallas is the talent that fashion, beauty, home and travel companies call, and call back, to lend a stylish eye at the begin of every important product launch. Since her start, Shaw has taken on work for many notable names including Chanel, Oscar de la Renta, Ralph Lauren, Kate Spade, Dolce and Gabbana, Harper’s Bazaar, Donna Karan, Target , Frederick Fekkai, Essie, Victoria’s Secret, Nordstrom, Neutrogena, Marc Jacobs beauty, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Century 21, Calypso St. Barth, Lulu Frost. Anthropologie, Free People, Ted Baker, Maybelline, Express, Coach, Joie and if you can believe it, many more.

Every established company knows her and every new brand wants her expert eye.

In 2017, Shaw joined Harper Collins to share her first book, The Way She Wears It, the ultimate insider’s guide to finding your personal style. In it, Shaw dedicates her valuable time, enviable talent and unique personal style secrets to readers. The book made Amazon’s best seller list on day two of release.

Dallas Shaw’s back story is equally awe-inspiring and will make you want to quit your nine to five and chase your wildest dreams, so she often takes on speaking engagements in both schools and in companies looking to educate and inspire their own in-house teams.

Her social channels act as motivation for every aspiring creative.

In addition to her day jobs, her personal styling choices and decoration are watched closely by 1.4 million faithful fashion followers checking her channels daily for as much art, fashion, beauty and travel content they can get their eyes on. She shares every mood board, color palette and design project online (along with the occasional joke). Followers consider Shaw their insider’s secret, following her every move from the tip of her pencil to the bottoms of her Louboutins (yes, he’s also one of her clients).
