Adult Cooking Classes & Kids’ Summer Camps
Learn to make impressive meals for your friends and family with adult cooking classes offered at Lackawanna College through the Lackwanna College White Apron Academy.
Lackawanna’s professional chef instructors will walk learners of all skill levels through the cooking process in a fun, relaxed environment.
Along with learning how to cook a meal from scratch, chef instructors will provide trade secrets to food and wine pairing. All classes are BYOB and a wine pairing suggestion will be offered for each class.
Adult cooking classes are non-credit and open to the community.
Lackawanna College is closely tracking coronavirus (COVID-19) and working to mitigate potential risks. The safety of students — both current and future —is a top priority. Adult cooking classes and kids & family cooking classes are now available online.

Adult Cooking Classes 2020 Schedule
Date Night at Home | August 6 | 6 p.m.
Staying in is the new going out! Open up your favorite bottle of wine with your partner and cook up a refined 3-course meal for two with Chef Susan Markovich.
Looking to make the evening even more special? Get dressed up, put flowers in a vase, don your table with a fancy tablecloth and linens, light some candles, and put on some romantic tunes. It’s all about the ambiance!
Asian Takeout at Home | August 13 | 6 p.m.
Chef Markovich will take you through some budget-friendly better-than takeout recipes that you can make at home. With less sodium and MSG, your wallet and your waistline will thank you!
Chef Markovich will teach you how to create your favorites from scratch, including classic egg rolls and more. Yum!
Bread Basics 101 | August 20 | 11 a.m. | (all ages)
While in quarantine, baking bread has become a hobby for many. With simple ingredients- just flour, water, salt, and yeast- it should be easy, right? Not so much.
There are a ton of factors that affect the quality of your loaf. Learn the basics of bread with Chef Christa Sapone and take the frustration out of breadmaking.

Family Pasta Party | August 12 | 11 a.m.
Had enough of boring family nights? Gather in the kitchen with one of our chef instructors to learn how to make a variety of fun-damental Italian sauces along with family-style lasagna and classic pasta sides like meatballs and garlic bread!
Family Baking Class | August 19 | 11 a.m.
Your kids might not be ready to put dinner on the table, so start them with something they like to eat- dessert!
Join Chef Christa Sapone from the comfort of home to learn how to make delicious sweets and treats that the whole family can enjoy.
