    LCEEC Nature Camps

    Join us for a week of fun and adventure exploring the natural habitats of the 211-acre LCEEC property. Experienced staff will guide children through innovative experiential activities focused on discovery and teamwork to gain a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of all life.

    More information about each of these camps is available in the LCEEC Summer Camp brochure or Winter Nature Camp flyer. Camp Counselors and Jr. Counselors are needed for our seasonal camps. If you’re interested, see the Camp Counselor flyer for details!

    Principles of Sustainability Course

    July 27 – Aug 7, 2020

    Principles of Sustainability Course

    Sessions: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    Principles of Sustainability is a three-credit college course offered at LCEEC designed to introduce students to the concepts of sustainability, including examining current issues within our environment, society and the economy. A brief summary of the historical events of sustainability and the Brundtland definition of sustainability will be covered. This course encourages students to use systems thinking and problem-solving skills to gain a deeper understanding of the complexity of sustainability. Course open to adults and high school students entering junior or senior year. (3 Credits) Cost $300 to $600 call for more information or to register. Principles of Sustainability is the first course offered in the online Sustainable Leadership certificate.

    LCEEC Summer Nature Camps

    June 22-26, 2020

    A Closer Look Day Camp
    Session 1: 9 a.m.-noon
    Session 2: 1-4 p.m.
    Cost: $80 per camper
    Ages 5 and 6

    This discovery-based camp nurtures children’s curiosity, wonder, and creativity. Using the natural world as a catalyst for growth and development, children will develop connections to Earth by engaging in first-hand experiences with plants and animals. Camp is $80 per camper.     June 22-26, 2020 or June 29-July 3, 2020

    Backyard Habitats Day Camp
    9 a.m.-4 p.m.
    Cost: $120 per camper
    Ages 7 and 8

    Campers will investigate the world around them and discover what is hiding in the forest, in the wetland, and in the meadow. Learn about the unique adaptations animals have to survive in Northeastern, PA. This camp is filled with plenty of outdoor fun with time for discovery, learning, hiking, nature crafts, and playing.     July 6-10, 2020

    Eco Explorers Day Camp
    9 a.m.-4 p.m.
    Cost: $120 per camper
    Ages 9 and 10

    Join us for a week of fun and adventure! Campers will spend time exploring the natural habitats on the 211-acre LCEEC property while investigating local ecosystems and the interconnections of all life. Campers will participate in fun activities centered on natural history, discovery, teamwork, outdoor exploration, hiking, nature crafts, and games. Camp is $120 per camper.     July 13-17, 2020

    ArtVentures Day Camp
    9 a.m.-4 p.m.
    Cost: $120 per camper
    Ages 7 and 8

    Campers will explore various art mediums and techniques using nature as inspiration. Art projects include clay pots, storybooks, paintings, collages, and recycled art. Other activities include color theory, pattern investigations, a clay dig, hiking, nature journaling, and outdoor games. Camp is $120 per camper. Registration is required, and space is limited.     July 13-17, 2020 or July 20-24, 2020

    Wilderness Survival Day Camp
    9 a.m.-4 p.m.
    Cost: $120 per camper
    Ages 9 and 10

    Campers will learn survival skills, increase self-confidence, and gain a newfound respect and sense of responsibility for the world around them. Activities include plant identification, fire by friction, shelter building, and animal tracking. Camp is $120 per camper. Registration is required, and space is limited.     July 20-24, 2020

    Eco Quest Day Camp
    9 a.m.-4 p.m.
    Cost: $120 per camper
    Ages 11-13

    Eco Quest camp combines outdoor recreation with concepts of natural history and conservation to develop campers’ eco-awareness and leadership skills. Highlights include a live animal presentation and field research techniques, outdoor skills, hiking, geocaching, and team-building obstacles.     LCEEC Winter Nature Camp - December 2020

    Winter Nature Camp
    Ages 5 to 11
    Date and Time TBD
    Cost: $115 for all three days or $45 per day.

    Come out of hibernation and explore winter through science experiments, track animals in the snow, get up-close with live turtles, and build a campfire. There will also be plenty of outdoor play, fun winter-themed games, crafts, and snacks.
