Welcome to the Police Academy

The Lackawanna College offers a wide array of programs and courses within the field of law enforcement. The Academy is certified by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania through the Municipal Police Officers’ Education and Training Commission in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania requires any person employed as a municipal police officer in the Commonwealth to have successfully completed the ACT 120 Program.

In addition to providing basic training for the ACT 120, Lackawanna College offers Lethal Weapons Training (ACT 235) for Basic and Recertification, mandatory (ACT 180) In-Service training for current municipal police officers, Expandable Baton, OC Training, Customized and Specialized training as well as (ACT 44) for Constable Training.
