Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department Donates Police Cruiser to Police Academy

The Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department has donated a police cruiser to the Lackawanna College Police Academy. The 2006 Crown Victoria Police Car was presented on behalf of the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department by Chief Harry Lewis and Lt. William Laverty to the Director of the Police Academy at Lackawanna College Eugene R. Baidas.

“I sent an e-mail to the Pa. Chiefs of Police through their association stating that our Police Academy was looking for a good used police cruiser,” said Mr. Baidas.

“I received several replies about auctions and cars for sale. One message from the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Dept. asked that I contact them. I called and spoke to Lt. Laverty and he stated that his department would like to donate a car.”

The cruiser will be used to train cadets at the Academy and will be primarily used for the Act 120 Emergency Vehicle Operation Classes.
