EXCO – North Coast Energy, Inc. (EXCO), a wholly-owned subsidiary of EXCO Resources, Inc. (NYSE: XCO), announced a donation of $25,000 to benefit the construction of the new campus for the New Milford center of Lackawanna College. The campus will be home to Lackawanna’s new Gas Technology Program which launches this fall.

The Gas Technology Program will prepare students for natural gas career opportunities developing the Marcellus Shale which is expected to create numerous jobs throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

“As development of the Marcellus Shale continues, natural gas companies hope to offer more opportunities for Pennsylvanians to become part of this exciting industry with challenging, good paying jobs,” Dan Kortum, Vice-President of Midstream and Marketing at EXCO said. “Lackawanna College has shown great insight in developing the Gas Technology Program that should result in a qualified workforce familiar with our industry and ready to go to work in a variety of positions. EXCO is pleased to be a financial contributor to this effort.”

A temporary campus is being set up on acquired land in New Milford and groundbreaking for the permanent building will take place later this fall.

“We are grateful for this gift from EXCO which will allow our students to be properly educated in a state-of-the-art facility,” said Lackawanna College President Raymond S. Angeli. “The Marcellus Shale will have a major impact on the region’s workforce and the College wants to provide the training that will help fill the needs that the industry demands.”
