SCRANTON, Pa. – Pennsylvania Sen. John Blake (D-Archbald) launched his second annual Student Ambassador program in January with an orientation event at Lackawanna College.

Started in the 2013-14 school year, the Student Ambassador Program allows high school seniors from schools within the 22nd Senatorial District the opportunity to learn about the levels of government in the state and provides an environment that promotes leadership skills and professional development, all while exploring important sites and institutions around Lackawanna County.

The 2014-15 program expanded to include up to two students from Abington Heights, Carbondale Area, Dunmore, Forest City, Holy Cross, Lackawanna Trail, Lakeland, Mid Valley, North Pocono, Old Forge, Pittston Area, Pocono Mountain, Riverside, Scranton, Scranton Prep, Valley View, and West Scranton high schools. Twenty-five applicants are enrolled in the unique initiative this year.
