Francis M. Goskowski
Lackawanna College Academic Dean

Francis M. Goskowski has been Academic Dean at Lackawanna College since July 1, 1995.

Except for a one-year stint as a lecturer in English at the University of Scranton, Mr. Goskowski has spent his entire professional career at Lackawanna College. He began as an Instructor in English in 1976 and over the years rose in the academic ranks until becoming a full professor in 1993. From 1980 until his appointment as Acting Dean in 1994, Mr. Goskowski also chaired the Humanities Department at the College.

Mr. Goskowski holds bachelor’s (1972) and master’s (1976) degrees from the University of Scranton. While at the university, he was a member of the Honors Program and was inducted into Alpha Sigma Nu.

Mr. Goskowski is also the College’s liaison to the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. In this capacity, he oversees preparation and transmission of Lackawanna’s required accreditation reports and updates and participates in commission-sponsored evaluation visits to other regional institutions.Within the greater Scranton community, Mr. Goskowski has served as a member of the Civic Pride Committee of Scranton Tomorrow and was a co-chair of the Committee’s Heritage Week celebrations in 1999 and 2000. He is a graduate of Leadership Lackawanna (Class of 1996) and is currently a member of its Board of Directors.He was Chair of the Board for the 2001-2002 program year.

Mr. Goskowski is married to the former Kathleen Lyons Yonkoski and is the father of two stepchildren, Mrs. Sharon Komora and Ronald Yonkoski. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, music, and theater.
