VST 125 Abdominal Vascular Disease and Assessment Course Objectives

Following completion of theoretical and laboratory learning experiences, the student will be able to:

  1. List and identify the abdominal vascular anatomy.
  2. Describe the abdominal vascular physiology.
  3. Explain the hemodynamics related to abdominal vascular testing.
  4. Describe various types of abdominal vascular pathophysiology.
  5. Perform a complete visceral vascular protocol demonstrating gray scale, color Doppler and pulsed Doppler spectral analysis.
  6. Define the diagnostic criteria and source for abdominal vascular testing.
  7. List various diagnostic studies for abdominal vascular disease explaining the advantages and disadvantages of each.
  8. Describe various treatment options of abdominal vascular disease including pharmacology and interventional procedures.
