SSC 210 Social Problems Course Objectives
Students in SSC 210 will:
- Define a social problem and examine popular attitudes toward social problems.
- Study vested interest groups, causes of crime, and treatment of criminal offenders.
- Study the family, divorce, alternatives to marriage, and status of women.
- Investigate religious differences and world and national population pressures.
- Study poverty and its relation to racial and urban conflicts.
- Study social deviance and health and medical issues.
- Study war and the aftermath of world conflict.
- Study environmental problems and their impact on quality of life globally.
