SSC 210 Social Problems Course Objectives 

Students in SSC 210 will:

  1. Define a social problem and examine popular attitudes toward social problems.
  2. Study vested interest groups, causes of crime, and treatment of criminal offenders.
  3. Study the family, divorce, alternatives to marriage, and status of women.
  4. Investigate religious differences and world and national population pressures.
  5. Study poverty and its relation to racial and urban conflicts.
  6. Study social deviance and health and medical issues.
  7. Study war and the aftermath of world conflict.
  8. Study environmental problems and their impact on quality of life globally.
