SD 135 Basic Physical Defense for Women Course Objectives 

It is expected that by the end of SD135 the student:

  1. Will have an understanding of the R.A.D Systems Continuum of Survival.
  2. Will have an understanding of the risks of personal safety and risk reduction strategies.
  3. Will be familiar with self-defense and the law.
  4. Will be familiar with the basic principles of defense and the decision to resist.
  5. Will have an understanding of their personal weapons, vulnerable locations, the principles of striking, and offensive and defensive postures.
  6. Will be able to demonstrate the ability to effectively warm up muscles for hands-on training.
  7. Will be able to demonstrate minimal proficiency in the 24 Base Component Techniques/Strategies in the R.A.D. for Women Program.
