OT 215 Medical Terminology / Medical Transcription II Course Objectives
An OT 215 student should be able:
- To transcribe a variety of medical reports and charts accurately, neatly, and according to proper format. Average-length reports should be completed during a class period.
- To transcribe the physicians dictation of patient information and data into final printed copy with accuracy.
- To be familiar with various medications, common medical abbreviations, and diagnostic procedures covered in the course.
- To utilize a medical dictionary and medical reference books in medical transcription.
- To transcribe reports with the quality of dictation varying from average to good and the difficulty level of the content from simple to average to complex.
- Transcribe reports from both native English-speaking and non-native English-speaking physicians.
