MK 211 Advertising Course Objectives:

After taking this course students should be able to:

  1. Know what advertising is and what it can do.
  2. Describe the different ways of classifying audiences for advertising.
  3. Recognize the effects of advertising in a national economy
  4. Explain who the participants in the advertising industry are and the role each plays in formulations and execution of advertising campaigns.
  5. Identify forces that may make the next decade a dramatic change for the advertising industry.
  6. Assess the benefits and problems of advertising in a capitalistic society and debate a variety of issues concerning advertising’s effects on society’s well-being.
  7. Discuss how advertising may influence consumer behavior through its effects on various psychological states.
  8. Discuss the various methods used to track the effectiveness of ad executions during and after the launch of a full-blown advertising campaign.
  9. Describe the three basic types of advertising agencies that can assist in the placement of advertising around the world.
  10. Discuss fundamental requirements for establishing viable sites on the World Wide Web.
