MK 101 Principles of Marketing Course Objectives:
- MK 101 will introduce the student to the main functions of marketing and how they relate to management practices.
- The student will become aware of the environment of marketing and decision making processes of competitive forces.
- The Buyer Behavior and Target Market Selection will be explored and the student, after completing this course, should be able to identify behaviors with a market.
- Product concepts , branding and packaging will be stressed and students should become aware of the “psychology” behind branding and packaging.
- Students will be able to identify marketing channels and supply chains and be able to make the most effective ways of distribution known in an organization.
- Promotion will be explained and the students will gain insight into collecting data for promotional ideas.
- Advertising and public relations will be identified and students should be able to produce an advertising campaign as part of a class project.
- Implementing the market plan and controlling the plan will be introduced to the students.
- The students will learn the dynamic forces of marketing on the Internet and how it is impacting the marketing function.
