MK 101 Principles of Marketing Course Objectives:

  1. MK 101 will introduce the student to the main functions of marketing and how they relate to management practices.
  2. The student will become aware of the environment of marketing and decision making processes of competitive forces.
  3. The Buyer Behavior and Target Market Selection will be explored and the student, after completing this course, should be able to identify behaviors with a market.
  4. Product concepts , branding and packaging will be stressed and students should become aware of the “psychology” behind branding and packaging.
  5. Students will be able to identify marketing channels and supply chains and be able to make the most effective ways of distribution known in an organization.
  6. Promotion will be explained and the students will gain insight into collecting data for promotional ideas.
  7. Advertising and public relations will be identified and students should be able to produce an advertising campaign as part of a class project.
  8. Implementing the market plan and controlling the plan will be introduced to the students.
  9. The students will learn the dynamic forces of marketing on the Internet and how it is impacting the marketing function.
  10. E-Marketing and its prominent arrival will bring the students up to date on the latest techniques in the field.
