MG 210 Human Resources Management Course Objectives:
An MG 210 student should be able to:
- To bring the student up to date on issues facing management in the 21st Century
- Encourage students to work in groups to apply the information learned in each chapter to solve a specific HR problem.
- Ethical dilemmas in HR management will be presented. Students will be asked to identify the ethical issues and discuss what would be an appropriate response.
- The students will be given the opportunity to go to the web sites of various companies to see how companies are really approaching the issues discussed.
- The students will be directed to the current human resources legal environment and will be able to identify those laws that are of ultimate importance in hiring, retention and firing.
- Human resources around the globe will be explored and the students will gain a useful background about working in the global economy.
- Morale and motivation in the workforce and management’s role will be discussed.
- Technology’s impact on the everyday functions of a human resource manager will be discussed .
- Unionization will be discussed and its impact will be explored.
- Human resources in the 21st Century will be identified and trends or practices that seem to be growing will prepare the student for management in the 21st Century.
