IS 202 Management Information Systems Course Objectives
- Each student will obtain an understanding of how information and data must be used in an organization's decision-making process at all levels of management.
- Each student will comprehend the concept and workings of a computer system and know the major technologies and functions of the components of such a computer system.
- All class members will gain an understanding of how information systems are used to support electronic commerce (Internet), business operations, managerial decision-making, and strategic advantage.
- All students will have a basic knowledge of computer terminology, hardware and software, see how these are put together to form data communications networks and understand why these are integral to a modern organization's MIS environment.
- All students will prepare write-ups of selected case studies that apply the concepts covered in the chapter readings and classes.
- All students will receive instruction in and submit projects using MS Excel for spreadsheet software as it relates to end-user computing.
