IS 108 Word Processing Course Objectives
An IS 108 student should be able:
- To format Word documents with features such as AutoText, footnotes and endnotes, Mail Merge Helper, fill-in forms, macros, styles, table of contents, index, figures, and table of authorities.
- To add visual appeal to Word Documents with features such as borders, clip art images, bitmap images, drawn objects, and charts.
- To demonstrate through completion of simulation exercises problem-solving, critical-thinking, and creative-thinking abilities as well as hands-on computer skills.
- To practice taking the MOUS Expert Certification exam by completing simulated tests in Word XP.
- To create a Calendar, Tasks, Contacts, and Inbox personal subfolder by using an information management program called Outlook.
- To schedule, edit, move, delete and print appointments and events in the Calendar window.
- To set appointments using natural language phrases.
- To create and print a task list and delete items from a task list; create and print a contact list and delete items from a contact list.
- To create e-mail messages.
