HI 106 World History Course Objectives

  1. To be able to identify and understand the major historical forces instrumental in the creation of their twentieth-century world, including some of the individuals who played an influential role on the world’ stage.
  2. To be able to intelligently discuss the dynamics of some of the world’s most popular religions students will encounter as they journey through their adult lives.
  3. To be able to read, understand, and formulate conclusions of data contained in charts, graphs, statistics, primary source materials, etc.
  4. To increase their reading and comprehension skills and their writing/research skills as demanded by the academic/business/professional worlds.
  5. To develop/strengthen their analytical skills in an effort to understand the myriad causal relationships that exist among nations and their peoples.
  6. To create literacy that will allow students to function effectively in their chosen careers.
