HI 106 World History Course Objectives
- To be able to identify and understand the major historical forces instrumental in the creation of their twentieth-century world, including some of the individuals who played an influential role on the world stage.
- To be able to intelligently discuss the dynamics of some of the worlds most popular religions students will encounter as they journey through their adult lives.
- To be able to read, understand, and formulate conclusions of data contained in charts, graphs, statistics, primary source materials, etc.
- To increase their reading and comprehension skills and their writing/research skills as demanded by the academic/business/professional worlds.
- To develop/strengthen their analytical skills in an effort to understand the myriad causal relationships that exist among nations and their peoples.
- To create literacy that will allow students to function effectively in their chosen careers.
