ECE 245 Methods and Materials in Early Childhood Education Course Objectives
The ECE 245 student will be able to:
- Analyze and select appropriate commercial materials for infant through grade 3 classrooms.
- Demonstrate an ability to adapt the presentation of materials to varying ability levels.
- Produce teacher-made materials which represent all areas of the ECE curriculum.
- Organize related materials into learning centers which foster independent acquisition of knowledge for students of varying interests and abilities.
- Analyze children’s abilities and interests and begin to develop an appropriate list of themes that foster child-centered learning.
- Relate critical methodologies in ECE to various learning styles, motivational levels, interests and abilities, and integrate them with appropriate materials.
