ECE 215 Infant and Toddler Care Course Objectives:  

ECE 215 students should be able:

  1. To identify the first two years of physical development (sensory, nervous system, motor)
  2. To recognize nutritional needs during the first two years of development
  3. To develop an understanding of parent/child relationships and how parents and children influence each other, as well as understanding how community agencies can assist in infant care
  4. To explore kinds of monitoring during childhood
  5. To identify the health, safety and psychometric needs of young children
  6. To explore safety prevention in the home, center and family day care center
  7. To learn emergency procedures for accidents and unexpected events.
