ECE 215 Infant and Toddler Care Course Objectives:
ECE 215 students should be able:
- To identify the first two years of physical development (sensory, nervous system, motor)
- To recognize nutritional needs during the first two years of development
- To develop an understanding of parent/child relationships and how parents and children influence each other, as well as understanding how community agencies can assist in infant care
- To explore kinds of monitoring during childhood
- To identify the health, safety and psychometric needs of young children
- To explore safety prevention in the home, center and family day care center
- To learn emergency procedures for accidents and unexpected events.
