EDU 105 Foundations of Education Course Objectives

  1. To acquaint the student with the professional imperatives and mandates related to teaching in a K-12 environment.
  2. To lay out the legal requirements for the attainment of a Pennsylvania State teaching certificate.
  3. To highlight the role of the teacher as a model and classroom leader.
  4. To familiarize the student with various educational philosophies.
  5. To enable the student to formulate an individual teaching philosophy that takes into account the needs of students, the demands of the profession, his/her own interests and goals.
