VCL 205 Vascular Clinical III Course Objectives:

Students on the clinical and administrative observation sites will be required to perform the following tasks:

  1. Maintain proper dress code as stated in handbook.
  2. Use professional judgment and discretion.
    1. Protect patients’ privacy rights.
    2. Maintain confidentiality.
    3. Perform within the scope of practice.
  3. Perform complete non-invasive extracranial cerebrovascular testing protocol.
  4. Perform complete non-invasive extremity arterial testing protocol.
  5. Perform complete non-invasive extremity venous testing protocol.
  6. Successfully challenge four of the following studies:
    • Extremity Arterial Evaluation
    • Extremity Venous Evaluation
    • Renal Artery Evaluation
    • Mesenteric Arterial Evaluation
    • Abdominal Venous Evaluation
    • Dialysis Access Evaluation
    • Intracranial Arterial Evaluation (TCD)
  7. Apply the appropriate diagnostic criteria to each of the above listed testing protocols.
  8. Provide a complete and accurate assessment of all testing findings in a preliminary impression.
  9. Describe and/or demonstrate appropriate procedures for assuring the accurate and timely interpretation of studies according to the clinical sites policies.
  10. Demonstrate proficiency in all required competencies as listed in the student handbook.
