CTN 210 Audio Production Course Objectives
- To understand and use audio production terminology.
- To understand concepts of hearing, sound, transmission, recording and processing.
- To practice with recording, mixing and editing of audiotapes and visual media.
- To understand legal standards and requirements for distribution.
- To work in groups in some phases of the creative, recording, editing and distribution process.
- To develop students' comprehensive understanding of audio equipment and its operation in order to use that equipment as tools for communication.
- To help students articulate a greater understanding of the reciprocal nature of media and culture.
- To further students' skills in critical thinking by providing an assortment of theories and arguments and the opportunity to apply them to specific and concrete examples and observations.
- To encourage students to become involved in their academic and local communities.
- To demonstrate effective research and information management skills.
- To demonstrate perseverance and learn from mistakes as students self-direct life-long learning.
- To utilize various forms of print and electronic references, evaluating each of these for logic, validity, and reliability.
- To compose in an electronic environment and using the resources of word processing software to improve writing.
- To compose work to be included in Student Credential Portfolios.
