COM 215 Broadcasting in America Course Objectives
In COM 215 students will be
- exploring the history of broadcasting while examining their current knowledge of the field.
- able to demonstrate how broadcasting and broadcasting professionals became what they are today.
- exploring other societies’ use of broadcasting and the differences professionals may encounter.
- examining the programs and programming basics, including program costs, syndication, program types, etc.
- applying an assortment of theories and arguments to specific and concrete examples and observations in order to further critical thinking.
- becoming involved in their academic and local communities.
- able to demonstrate effective research and information management skills.
- able to demonstrate perseverance and learn from mistakes as students self-direct life-long learning.
- utilizing various forms of print and electronic references, evaluating each of these for logic, validity and reliability.
- composing in an electronic environment and using the resources of word processing software to improve writing.
- composing work to be included in Student Credential Portfolios.
