CJS 120 Pennsylvania Criminal Code Objectives:

CJS 120 students should be able:

1. To provide the student with an understanding of the criminal laws of this Commonwealth as they appear in Title 18.
2. To acquaint the student with general working knowledge of the Pennsylvania Rules of Criminal Procedure
3. To present current case laws and how they redirect and modify the criminal laws of this Commonwealth
4. To expose the student to legal concepts such as search and seizure, self-incrimination and the use of force.
5. To compare the Pennsylvania Crimes Code with that of other states and the Federal Criminal Law System.
