BNK220 Deposit Operations Course Objectives

After successfully completing this course, a student will be able to:

  1. Distinguish between types of assets and forms of property ownership
  2. Define the basic concepts of stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and common trust funds.
  3. Describe the purpose and scope of various agency relationships
  4. Explain the Prudent Investor Rule and how it relates to investment risk, policy, and responsibility
  5. Analyze a will and list the steps of the administration and settlement of an estate
  6. Distinguish the types of guardianships that exist and compare powers of attorney for property and healthcare
  7. Define what a personal trust is, reasons for having one, and the characteristics of a good trustee
  8. Describe the parts of a personal trust document
  9. Distinguish a land trust from a personal trust (optional)
