BNK 105 Principles of Banking Course Objectives

After successfully completing this course, a student will be able to:

  1. Discuss the relationship banks have with their customers and their communities.
  2. Describe the creation of the Federal Reserve System and its role as agent and bank regulator
  3. Discuss various deposit instruments and regulations
  4. Define and describe negotiable instruments
  5. Explain how banks post checks to accounts and bank security measures against fraud
  6. Discuss bank lending and identify basic loan categories
  7. Explain the objectives of funds management, including asset/liability management and bank investments
