ACC 210 Intermediate Accounting II Course Objectives:
- The student will demonstrate through examinations and quizzes, a working knowledge of:
- The valuation of plant assets
- The acquisition of plant assets
- The retirement of plant assets
- The student will demonstrate an understanding of plant asset utilization and depreciation by calculating depreciation using several different alternative methods.
- The student will demonstrate an understanding of current liabilities management with specific applications involving accounts payable and payroll.
- The student will demonstrate an understanding of long-term liabilities by recording journal entries to record:
- The issuance of Bonds
- The payment of bond interest
- The retirement of Bonds
- The student will demonstrate an understanding of the corporate form of business organization and will demonstrate that understanding by recording entries to record:
- The formation of the corporation
- The issuance of common and preferred stock
- The payment of cash dividends
- The payment of stock dividends
- The liquidation of the corporation
- The purchase of treasury stock
- The student will prepare a statement of shareholders’ equity.
- The student will demonstrate an understanding of management, valuation and reporting of long-term investments.
- The student will develop and demonstrate knowledge of leases, the buy versus lease decision and the advantages and disadvantages of leasing.
