COMMUNICATION ELECTRONIC TECHNOLOGY/ELECTRONIC TECHNOLOGY
Associate in Applied Science Degree

Objectives:

The objectives of the Electronics Technology program are as follows:

  1. To prepare graduates to assume responsible positions as electronics technicians, preferably in business or governmental settings in Northeastern Pennsylvania that require their expertise.
  2. To present students with the whole range of careers Electronics Technology graduates may pursue, including positions in electro-optics, testing, field service, instrumentation and maintenance, and sales and service.
  3. To bring to bear smoothly and efficiently the human and technical resources of Lackawanna and Johnson colleges in ways that will maximize instructional effectiveness for students in all aspects of their studies.
  4. To prepare students to be knowledgeable about theoretical principles and proficient in practical applications associated with electronic instrumentation and controls and to be adaptable in utilizing such knowledge and skills in a variety of work situations.
  5. To familiarize students with the physics of electricity and the ways scientific principles are applied in industry.
