CHANGE/DECLARATION OF MAJOR

Any student matriculated as an Undeclared student should declare a major by the end of the first semester of enrollment. Any delay beyond this point can result in completed coursework not meeting the requirements of the chosen curricula, thus extending the time needed for completion of graduation requirements. A declaration of major should be reviewed by the student’s academic advisor, and a completed change of major form must be filed with the Registrar’s Office. There is no fee for a major declaration.

Any student wanting to change majors should meet with his/her academic advisor to review requirements of the new curriculum and insure that the appropriate courses are scheduled. If the student has transfer credits from another college, a re-evaluation of these credits by the Registrar will be necessary, and could result in a change in the number of credits accepted for transfer. In addition, a change in major may delay timely completion of graduation requirements. A completed change of major form must be filed with the Registrar’s Office after payment of the change of major fee.
