Academic Advising
Lackawanna College’s Student Advising Program is based on the premise that there is no substitute for academic advisors who serve as role models and mentors to their students.
All students are assigned an academic advisor at the beginning of their studies at Lackawanna College to assist them in the planning of their academic goals. All academic advisors are members of the College’s faculty or professional staff and possess a thorough understanding of the College’s academic degree offerings.
The Student Advising Program includes two required meetings between academic advisor and their student advisees each semester. During these meetings, the student’s progress will be reviewed, and the course selections that best suit the students’ transfer or career needs will be identified.
The academic advisor will also assist the student in course selection during the pre-registration meetings. The Director of Advising and Transfer Services can advise students on selecting a major and provide guidance on scheduling academic electives while enrolled at Lackawanna College. |
