Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for the Professional Rescuer develops a student’s core knowledge and skills. Courses are intended for healthcare professionals, emergency medical responders, or anyone needing BLS training and certification as a job requirement, and they are offered in conjunction with and independent from the College’s Paramedic Training program

Initial certification requires 7 hours of instruction. Renewal certification requires half that time. Prerequisites for renewal include a current CPR certification equal to the professional level, prior to expiration. There are no prerequisites for initial certification in this course.

For information regarding the program, costs, and the next time it is offered, contact the Lackawanna College EMS Academy at (570) 961-7883 or Bridget Duggan, Continuing Education Special Programs Manager, at dugganb@lackawanna.edu.
