Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Lackawanna College’s Paramedic Training Institute has partnered with Lackawanna Ambulance to offer EMT courses.
The EMT provides basic emergency care and transportation for patients with critical medical problem and traumatic injuries. EMT’s perform immediate lifesaving interventions including automated external defibrillation, use of airway adjuncts and assisting patients with their physician prescribed medications, manual stabilization of injuries and bleeding control. EMT is considered the minimum level of certification required for ambulance personnel. EMT’s can be found in a variety of roles throughout the United States including Community Volunteer Ambulance Services, Paid Professional EMS Services, Inter-facility transports, Fire Departments, Rescue Services, Law Enforcement, Industrial sites, Airports, Public Safety Agencies, Urgent care centers and Emergency Departments.

COST: $450.00

The course fee includes EMT textbook, workbook, online content, access to EMS testing.com, and BCLS CPR Card.
This course prepares the student to take the certification EMT exam for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and National Registry of EMT’s.  In this course, the student will learn basic emergency skills such as CPR, Basic airway management, medical and trauma assessment, bandaging and splinting.
