Surgical Technology program moving to Scranton
SCRANTON, Pa. – Continuing its dedication to teaching future generations of healthcare professionals, Lackawanna College announced today that it will relocate its successful Surgical Technology program to its Scranton campus in the Fall 2017 semester.
For years, the program was housed in Lackawanna’s Towanda Center to train technologists who work under the direct supervision of surgeons and registered nurses as the College developed relationships with healthcare providers in Pennsylvania and New York.
Transitioning the program to Scranton will give our students access to even more regional healthcare systems and open opportunities for residential housing.
Interested students can gain more information about the Surgical Technology program and more of the College’s employment-driven Allied Health-related majors during the Healthcare Careers Information Night on Wednesday, Oct. 19, beginning at 6 p.m. Registration is available online at www.lackawanna.edu/openhouse.
Founded in 1894, Lackawanna College is a private, accredited college serving the people of northeastern Pennsylvania. With a main campus situated in downtown Scranton, Lackawanna’s expanding footprint also includes satellite centers in Hawley, Hazleton, New Milford, and Towanda.
